July 2, 2010 - Eric completed physical
July 5, 2010 - NCA received our Domestic Adoption Application
- accepted into their Domestic Adoption Program
July 9, 2010 - Initial Home Visit with NS
July 12, 2010 - Second Office Visit with NS
July 15, 2010 - Ohio Child Abuse Clearance Completed
July 15, 2010 - Completed Online Criminal Record Check
July 15, 2010 - Shelly completed physical
July 26, 2010 - Both Completed FBI Fingerprints - FED EX'd same day
July 27, 2010 - Third Office Visit with NS
August 18, 2010 - FINALLY COMPLETED ADOPTION PROFILE BOOK ONLINE
August 28, 2010 - Mailed Adoption Profile Books to NCA
September 17, 2010 - Received Shelly's fingerprints, Eric's had to be
resubmitted due to a "rolling finger"
September 26, 2010 - Mailed Eric's FBI fingerprints for the second time.
September 21, 2010 - Received Offical Homestudy from NS
September 23, 2010 - Mailed Official Home study to NCA
September 28, 2010 - All PAPERWORK TURNED IN!! OFFICIALLY WAITING!
October 1, 2010 - NCA called and wanted to know if we were open to any race. We said YES!! :)
November 29, 2010 - Received Eric's fingerprints after his "rolling finger" incident. :)
January 6, 2011 - Phone call saying a birth mom picked us and was having a baby boy that night.
January 7, 2011 - Phone call saying the birth mom changed her mind
April 26, 2011 - Phone call from NCA saying that they wanted to show our book to a birth mom who is giving birth to a baby girl in August.
May 7, 2011 - Email from agency stating that the mom chose another family.
August 1, 2011 - Friend suggested we contact CAS because of their need for families open to race. Called CAS to inquire
August 11, 2011 - Called CAS to talk about adoption costs. DW mentioned Marlee's situation to me. She told me to start praying, in which I responded, I never stopped!
August 13, 2011 - Met DW at CAS to discuss Marlee's situation more.
August 4, 2011 - Baby Girl Marlee was born (with another agency, CAS)
August 17, 2011 - Met Marlee for the first time
September 21, 2012 - Marlee's placement date!
December 23, 2012 - Marlee's adoption finalized!
OUR SECOND ADOPTION:
November 7, 2012 - Contacted NS about updating our home study and starting second adoption.
March 4, 2013 - Visit for Home study Update
June 11, 2013 - Home study Completed
August 2013 - Moved to a new home
September 17, 2013 - Home Visit for Home study Addendum
October 1, 2013 - Home study Addendum Completed
November 26, 2013 - Received text that a baby girl was born and needed a family.
November 27, 2013 - Birth Mother chose another family with medical experience.
**Obviously this list does not show EVERYTHING.. as you all know things don't always go according to plan, there are always hiccups along the road, trust me we have had our share.
